NAME ReACH (Rescuing Abductees Center for Hope) MISSION STATEMENT: We appeal to the world to free all the abductees held in North Korea. PURPOSE 1. Inform the public. 2. Support visitors to Washington, DC who are related to the abduction issue. 3. Improve members' knowledge and understanding of the issue. ACTIVITIES 1. Learn about 1) Share information about abduction issues through the exchange of book, knowledge and discussion. 2) Inform members and the public about lectures by specialist in the field, including journalists, researchers and group members. 2. We inform other groups related to abductee issues in Japan about the ReACH, and are pleased to provide assistance to them. 3. We support visitors to Washington, DC who are related to the abduction issue by providing accommodation, meals, transportation services. 4. Public relations activities take place at the Japanese Embassy, Japanese schools, universities, chambers of commerce, alumni associations and other groups and organizations, etc. Our long term goal is toinform the non-Japanese public about this important issue. 5. Support the movie “ABDUCTION: The Megumi Yokota Story”. 6. Translation Project of “Families of Abductees”. NOTE 1. While we are not a political organization, we would not reject or refuse voluntary political activities on a part of members if these actions help lead to the safe return of abductees. 2. Our purpose is not to increase membership, but to try to spread the network. |
